Traditional Dance and Music

North Sulawesi also have 3 traditional musics: Kolintang Music, the Kolingtang  consists of a set of horizontally laid, tuned gongs that are struck with mallets. Kaweng Music, the ensemble typically includes bamboo tubes of varying lengths, producing different pitches when struck. Kaweng music is played during various ceremonies and events, contributing to the cultural soundscape of the region. Tinada Music, Tinada is a traditional Minahasan vocal music form accompanied by traditional instruments. It often involves a group of singers performing harmonies, accompanied by instruments like the kolintang (a set of tuned wooden or bamboo instruments) and bamboo flutes.
